Busy, Busy, Busy!

As always here at 3MT we are struggling to get three minutes to ourselves!

But, Hey! That's the way we like it!

And why are we so busy, and giddy and wrigly?

Well because we are forever creating new things for you to get involved in!

First up our website is constantly being update with more and more information about exactly what's going on when here at 3MT, so if you are looking to get out of the house, without leaving the cosy behind then check out what we have coming up here at 3MT this Autumn here!

Need a little guidance or want to get more involved with 3MT?  Then there's a whole host of great event's coming up!

On Saturday the 22nd we have a whole day of Devise, Improvise and Perform workshops for all ages!  So if you have a hidden talent, want to grow in confidence or just try something new then pop along!  And what's more is it'll only cost you £3!

Then the weekend after it's our '3MT Weekend of Good'

First up we have our Family Variety Show, 'Strange Creatures and Peculiar Features' at 3pm on Saturday 29th!  This is an afternoon of comedy, storytelling and interactive fun for anyone with an imagination!  Tickets are available now on ticketweb!

If what you're looking for is something a little more musical then we have our all new choir meeting for the first time at 5pm (still on Saturday 29th).  The Iron Will Ensemble, is an all female choir writing and performing original songs about heroines past and present!  Fancy getting involved?  Get in touch with Gina here at 3MT or through our Facebook page!

And you would think after all that we would call it a day, but Saturday continues with yet more, and a night of Family Theatre!  Come along to devise, improvise and perform a three minute sketch as a family and you could win a spot in our next variety show! And after all that fun, we'll pull down our big screen for a cosy warm down of vintage film!

Still not had enough of 3MT? (As if you could!)

Then come down Sunday night for the Northern Quarter Swishing Party!

This a great charity clothes swap event, it's £5 in, with all funds raised going to Independent Choices!

And you'll leave with a bag of new clothes and great sense of well being!

Interrupted by new theatre...

Well, there are worse things to be interrupted by!

This weekend the 24:7 Theatre Festival kicked off in Manchester and here at 3MT too!  We are thrilled to be taking part in this fantastic festival, which supports all the things we love, new writing, new theatre and new talent!

It has made for quite a different start to the week, with my usual Monday morning admin interrupted by a lunchtime show at half 12, not that I am complaining!

 

Of course, I am sure you have already heard the rave reviews and there will be many more to come, so I shall move swiftly on, but staying on the same theme of new talent.

Now as I have previously blogged about 3MT is looking to head back to it's roots, with the search for 3MT talent and

this Friday sees the launch of the Arcade Theatre!

The stage is built, the shutter looks fantastic, as you can see, and now all we need to do is find some fabulously talented people to fill it with!

We already have the wonderful Elmo Ashall-Kelly and The Stereo Troupes looking to do a spot, so if you would like to join them pop on down to 3MT at 8 on Friday, or why not come a little earlier, for the final 24:7 play at 6pm?

3MT, is literally overflowing with talent, luckily we have the arcade so we never have to kick anyone with talent out onto the street!

Phew, how do we do it?

As always there are a hundred and one projects going on here at 3MT, but that's the way we like it!

This weekend we had new comedy troupe Flamin' Aces here with their work in progress show, Art Attack. Keep an eye out for these guys, it's early days for them but they are heading towards... well, no one is really sure with these guys where their improv will end up, but wherever it is, it will be some where funny!

Last week also saw the launch of our new day time cafe, Gina is now serving delicous pancakes and pitta breads Thursday-Saturday. 3MT is the place to be anytime of day!

After all that, you'd think we'd be worn out, but Monday came around and we were raring to go all over again. And what a way to kick off the week, with Our Carly's Poetry night 'Poetry TBC.' This night is really picking up with great local poets performing their work in a fabulous atmosphere, I personally can't wait till the next one, on the 6th of August!

Don't worry we haven't peaked too soon this week, tonight we are screening Gaslands, tomorrow night we welcome back the fabulous Dr Sketchy and Friday sees Monkey Poet making his 3MT debut!

3MT Talent

Shades of Diva, Lloyd Eyre Morgan

The 3MT Venue has come a long way in just a year! We’ve had some wonderful in-house cast members and writers along with some amazing sell out weeks from touring productions and our associate artists.  With Lloyd Eyre Morgan having written, directed and produced three plays in this time each receiving standing ovations and great reviews, a crazy week with MaD Theatre, and our wonderful monthly events including Doctor Sketchy, Our Carly’s Poetry Night and Kino Vintage Films really taking off.  Not to mention the first ever Afflecks Fringe Festival back in April which saw some great young Manchester bands take to stages all across the Northern Quarter and the 3MT Variety Show head out on tour too!

All these amazing things and talented people mean we have plenty to look forward to, but we don’t want to forget where we came from, on the third floor of Afflecks, with 3 minute sketches on a Saturday afternoon. So to bring together the past and the present we have come up with a brand new competition and platform for new artists, 3MT Talent.

On Thursday July 5^th we start our search for the next big thing, or at least as big as you can fit into three minutes! So if you, or anyone you know, has ever thought about performing, poetry, music, comedy, writing or any other creative outlet, our stage is open to you for three whole minutes! With industry experts invited, we want to see faces old and new show us what they have to offer!

Welcome to the 3MT Blog!

With so much going on here at 3MT it can be a whirlwind of talent and events, blink and you might miss something, so from now on we will be putting up all the latest photos, news, and reviews, as well as all our fantastic upcoming dates and promotions!

We are about to celebrate the first anniversary of our opening theatre performance, and with this just around the corner, here at 3MT we are growing and moving forward with lots of new and exciting projects in the pipe line, so be sure to check back here to make sure you don’t miss out!
